Home Learning

At The Vale we value so much the work done in partnership with families and how parents and carers support the learning we do in school.

Home learning compliments and consolidates that done in school.  It gives rehearsal time and time to explore concepts or research topics begun in school.  It is progressive throughout the school to ensure that each child leaves for their next stage of learning prepared and equipped.

At the beginning of each academic year the expectations for each year group are explained at the class briefings. 

Reading is at the heart of it all and as much research shows that parents and the home environment are essential to the early teaching of reading and fostering a love of reading; children are more likely to continue to be readers in homes where books and reading are valued.
