Year 5/6 Girls Football Tournament
The Year 5 and 6 girls made us and themselves very proud when they attended the Epsom and Ewell Football Tournaments and competed against other local primary school teams.
Here are a selection of the reports the girls have written:
“I really enjoyed the football, it was really fun even though it was cold. I felt like sometimes the referee was being a bit harsh. Overall we came 3rd out of 6. This tournament has given me a lot of confidence with football because I wasn’t very good at it before. I have found a new sport that I really enjoy.” Year 5 girl
“I loved the football so much and I think I should play more often. Sometimes I felt the ref was a little unfair but I didn’t complain because no one wants a complaining footballer. Overall it was so much fun and I think the school take part in more girls football tournaments. Some girls need to try new sports and maybe they will like them. Remember if you try something new, you could love it and end up being a world champion!” Year 5 girl
“I really enjoyed the football because I got to be with my friends and I really like football in general. At certain points in the last game things got a little bit tense but we carried on. One parent said we were very good for being so positive.” Year 5 girl.
“I think our team will win many more matches in the future and I’m really proud of us. We drew with the overall winners and they won all of their other matches. It was really good fun even though we didn’t win. I was a defender and sometimes it was a bit scary when they ran at us!” Year 6 girl
