GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

We were lucky enough to welcome one of our parents in today to play her guitar and sing Christmas songs with Reception and Year One. The Vale Primary School and Nursery, Junior Choir were so proud to be welcomed at the @racingwelfare Christmas Dinner to spread some cheer with a few carols. We are so lucky to be part of this community in the Epsom Downs and Headley area and our children find such value in the contributions they can make. As part of EYFS's wider curriculum learning on 'People who help us' they were keen to welcome their first visitor. He shared with the children some fire safety tips, clothes he has to wear to keep him safe and what sort of person can become a firefighter. The children asked him some really thoughtful questions. Inviting "people who help us" (community helpers) to visit schools is crucial for a child's development, as it provides real-world context to learning, fosters a sense of community safety and belonging, and inspires future aspirations. #ActiveLearning #growlearnflourish #inspiringall @glfschools GLF Schools

This week, Year 1 enjoyed a lovely local walk around the village as part of their wider curriculum learning about local buildings and structures. The children explored different types of buildings, noticing materials, shapes, and features, and discussed how these buildings are used in the community.
